 Crystal Barnett founded the A Mother’s Touch program in 2017. She serves as the Executive Director, working with the existing residents and securing new community partners. Her lived experience as a person in long-term recovery, being a single mom of four children, and navigation through the child welfare system has ignited the passion to give back to the vulnerable population of single/pregnant mothers. In working very closely with single, addicted mothers in the child welfare system, I became acutely aware of the alarming rate that families were being torn apart and this in part due to lack of housing and other supports. Through this experience, I was driven to provide transitional living, life skills enhancement and other support to a vulnerable population such as women and children
